Renowned Dallas trial firm becomes Johnston Tobey Baruch; Appellate lawyer Chad Baruch joins team

The Dallas law firm of JohnstonTobey, a Texas leader in professional malpractice, business litigation and appeals, is now Johnston Tobey Baruch.

The Texas trial and appellate lawyers are pioneers in the handling of cases involving legal and accounting malpractice, investment fraud, and insurance bad faith. They also handle business disputes, commercial litigation, and fiduciary litigation, as well as civil, family and criminal appeals. Johnston Tobey Baruch serves as the litigation arm of several prominent Texas companies.

The name change became necessary when Chad Baruch, a well known appellate lawyer, recently joined the firm. JTB attorneys can now handle cases from the outset through appeals, all within the firm.

“Chad brings a dimension to our team that is essential to a top business practice,” says JTB Managing Shareholder Randy Johnston. “Now we have a superstar attorney at each juncture in these cases, all within our firm.”

Johnston is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law, Tobey in Consumer and Commercial Law and Baruch in Civil Appellate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

Baruch is the 2015 winner of the Gene Cavin Award, the top award given by the State Bar of Texas each year for lifetime contributions to continuing legal education. He is also Chair of the Texas Bar College.

Each JTB attorney has been selected to Best Lawyers in America and has made the list of Texas Super Lawyers and D Magazine’s Best Lawyers in Dallas.

Johnston and Tobey founded their firm in 1997. Coyt Johnston, Randy’s son, joined in 2008. While each JTB attorney handles his own cases, the team works together on large cases.

“I appreciate the team concept in litigation practiced by Johnston Tobey Baruch,” says Baruch. “Every attorney in the firm participates in major cases. There is no downtime and no learning curve when a client brings a case to this firm. We all do what we do best in every case.”

The firm is located at 3308 Oak Grove Avenue in the Uptown section of Dallas. To schedule a consultation, call Michelle Spear at 214-741-6260 or email
