Dallas trial lawyer Robert Tobey has been chosen one of the Top 100 Attorneys in Texas for 2015 by a vote of his peers. The prestigious Top 100 list is compiled by Thomson Reuters and published in the current issue of Texas Super Lawyers Magazine and in Texas Monthly.
Lawyers who make the list have been judged outstanding in a dozen specific areas, indicating peer recognition and professional achievement. For 13 years in a row, Tobey has been named to the list of Texas Super Lawyers, an honor bestowed on only five percent of the 70,000 attorneys in the state. He was also named to Best Lawyers (Woodward and White 2015) and as one of the Best Lawyers in Dallas by D Magazine (2014-15).
“Robert’s attention to the details of business and commercial litigation is phenomenal,” says Randy Johnston, who formed Dallas-based Johnston Tobey, PC with Tobey in 1987. “We are a litigation boutique, and Robert expertly handles a wide variety of litigation.” The firm is well known across Texas for pursuing claims against other professionals, including lawyers.
Tobey is Board Certified in Consumer and Commercial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He also serves as Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors of the Dallas Bar Association and as Co-Chair of the Equal Access to Justice Campaign that raised more than $1.1 million for legal services for the poor of Dallas.
A 1980 graduate of the University of Texas School of Law, he earned a degree in economics at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
Tobey’s best recommendation is the testimonial from a client defrauded by an investment company until Robert made it right. “Our situation was desperate until Robert Tobey took the case,” the client said. “It was just Robert against a roomful of lawyers on the other side. And he outsmarted all of them.”
